Program Grants for LGBTQIA+ Populations and Allies

The West Side Community Fund (WSCF) is excited to announce a new, special grant cycle dedicated to supporting programs and initiatives serving LGBTQIA+ community members and allies in Chelsea, Hudson Yards, and Hell's Kitchen.

A select group of donors stepped forward to fund this grant cycle supporting one of Community Board 4’s most historically significant populations.

Applications opened on February 18th and are due by March 27th. Grant recipients will be announced in June. The Fund will be awarding grants at a variety of levels.

Priority Focus Areas

Priority will be given to projects addressing:

  • Housing and people experiencing homelessness 

  • Healthcare access

  • Food security

  • Education and economic empowerment 

  • Community development

  • Arts and culture

  • Programs serving underserved populations within the LGBTQIA+ community

Grant Eligibility

Past WSCF-funded initiatives have included community health centers, block and tenants' associations, non-profits, schools, youth leadership programs, food pantries, social services for seniors, arts programs, and more. Past grant winners may re-apply.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • The applicant organization's proposed program or project must serve LGBTQIA+ populations and allies in the Chelsea, Hudson Yards, or Hell's Kitchen area (Community Board 4 catchment area)

  • Grants cannot support religious or partisan activities, nor programs that promote any form of discrimination

  • All organizations and groups delivering services to LGBTQIA+ populations and allies are invited to apply, but organizations without 501(c)(3) status must have a fiscal sponsor
