Grantee Capacity-Building
The West Side Community Fund’s capacity-building initiatives equip grantee organizations with support beyond funds.
Supplementing WSCF’s microgrants, these initiatives provide grantees with the skills, tools, and infrastructure needed to grow sustainably, collaborate effectively, and maximize impact.
Programming includes hands-on professional development opportunities and peer learning networks that foster connections across organizations.

Bringing together organizations distributing food to thousands of people each week, this inaugural convening initiated dialogue around shared challenges and collective solutions.

Fundraising Workshop Series
Led by Reshard Riggins, this convening examined how to better connect youth to meaningful career opportunities. Participating organizations shared strategies for strengthening employer partnerships, addressing post-pandemic skill gaps, and helping young people build the networks, confidence, and career readiness needed for long-term success.

Designed to build nonprofit fundraising capacity, this workshop series is led by experienced fundraiser Katie Ellis. Sessions focus on creating sustainable fundraising plans, identifying revenue streams, and navigating the grant application process to support organizational sustainability.
